National Bank East Coast Open:
The weather over the Canada Day weekend certainly played havoc on the plans for the National Bank East Coast Open tennis championships which were scheduled to take place in Moncton/Dieppe/Riverview at 3 clubs on 20 courts with 167 players. But unfortunately, due to the forecasted weather, the decision was made to first, move the junior portion of the event to the Abony Family Indoor Tennis Center in Fredericton, second, cancel the open portion of the event, and third, try to play the masters portion on the clay courts in Riverview and hope that the rain would not be as bad as expected. In the end, 92 players were left in the event and the decisions proved to be the right ones. The following are all the results from play which took place indoors in Fredericton and outdoors in Riverview:
