The following are the results from the NB/NS Indoor Open Tennis Circuit event held this past weekend at the Abony Family Tennis Center in Fredericton:

Top seeds prevail in both the men’s and ladies singles draws as Luke Saunders of Halifax took the men’s singles title and Michelle Zarei of Quispamsis claimed the ladies singles title.  Saunders dominated the finals defeating Nick Dempsey of Fredericton 6/0, 6/0.  Saunders had advanced to the final with a 6/3, 6/2 win over Hielke Moore in one semi-final while Nick Dempsey defeated Will Connolly of Charlottetown 6/1, 7/6 in the other semi-final.  Michael Waddell of Charlottetown won the consolation.  For her part, Zarei defeated Maya Lal of St. Stephen 2/6, 6/1, 10/7 in a hard fought final.  Zarei had advanced with a 6/1, 6/1 win over Niki Karol of Fredericton in the semi’s and Lal advanced by beating Julie Devlin of Fredericton 6/4, 6/4.  Sophie Cameron-Howe of Fredericton won consolation honours.  In men’s doubles, Saunders and Moore teamed up to defeat Connolly and Waddell 6/4, 6/2 in the final.  Saunders/Moore beat Nick Dempsey and Steve Wolf of Fredericton 6/3, 6/2 while Connolly/Waddell beat the team of Marc Pepin and Calvin Sutherland of Fredericton 6/1, 6/1 to advance to the finals.  Pepin and partner Maryani Lesmana of Oromocto took the Mixed Doubles title defeating Sutherland and Lal in the finals by scores of 6/3, 6/4 .  Pepin/Lesmana advanced to the finals defeating David Vaughan and Julie Devlin of Fredericton 6/3, 0/6, 10/6 in one semi while Sutherland/Lal advanced beating Mike Fox and Jennifer Fox of Saint John 6/2, 7/5 in the other semi.  And finally, in Men’s 4.0 Singles, Ali Amer of Fredericton defeated Rudy Affandi of Oromocto  6/3, 6/1 to take the title.  Mark Thibault of Fredericton won the consolation.
