National Bank Christmas Open Results:
Hielke Moore defeated Mitchell Nel in a very competitive final to claim the men’s open singles title at the National Bank Christmas Open held at the Abony Family Tennis Center on Friday and Saturday. He came from behind to win by scores of 6/7, 7/5, 10/8. 12 year-old Mia Bennett beat Monique LeClair 6/3, 7/6 to win the ladies open singles title. In 4.0 men’s singles, Shawn Downey defeated Mark Thibault 6/4, 6/2 to claim the title. In men’s open singles consolation, Dax Phillips defeated Minh Nguyen 8/6. Phillips teamed up with Rose Arsenault to win the open mixed doubles title taking out Scott Ricketts and Monique LeClair in the finals, winning 6/4, 6/4. Arsenault and LeClair then won the ladies open double final defeating Heather Neilson and Carol MacQuarrie by scores of 6/0, 6/1
