TENNIS NB MODIFIED TOURNAMENT #2: June 27, 2020
Wilmot Park Tennis Courts (Saunders Street), Fredericton, NB
Tennis NB held it’s second sanctioned competitive tournament of the summer at Wilmot Park in Fredericton this past weekend. Again the tournament used a modified format with only a limited number of divisions and a maximum number of players in each division with adherence to safety measures and physical distancing. The following are the final results:
Men’s 4.0 Singles: Finn McMorran (Fredericton) def. Ben Hamilton (Fredericton) 6/4, 6/1
Men’s 4.0 Singles Consolation: Alex Lam (Moncton) def. Nicholas Lam (Moncton) 1/6, 7/6, 10/2
Ladies Singles: Vanya Virmani (Fredericton) def. Raktika Galwa (Fredericton) 6/1, 6/3
Ladies Singles Consolation: Rachel Schmidt (Fredericton) def. Samira Farhoud (Fredericton) 6/3, 6/1
Men’s 50+ Singles: Gary Jessome (Rothesay) def. Peter Cheng (Fredericton) 6/3, 6/2
Men’s 50+ Singles Consolation: Tim Hicks (Fredericton) def. Stephen Hunter (Perth) 6/2, 6/2
The next event will be held next weekend in Riverview and will include play in men’s and ladies doubles
